Our engineering team recently completed the custom design phase of a specialized engine control panel, tailored for a client in the Maldives. Unique to this project was the integration of a frame circuit breaker, designed to meet the unique operational needs of the region.
The project began with a series of virtual meetings with the Maldivian client earlier this year. The client emphasized that the control system needed to be able to withstand the high humidity and occasional voltage fluctuations common in coastal areas. Our team took these factors into account and designed it with durability and precision in mind.
One of the key points of discussion was the frame circuit breaker. Unlike standard circuit breakers, this model provides enhanced overload and short-circuit protection, which is critical to keeping engines running in remote locations. The client also valued its ease of maintenance, a pragmatic consideration given the logistical challenges of maintaining equipment in an island environment.
Throughout the design phase, the team worked closely with our in-house electrical experts to ensure compatibility between the circuit breaker and the panel monitoring system. We conducted multiple prototype tests simulating real-world environmental conditions, including temperature changes and moisture exposure, to verify performance reliability.
The customer has expressed satisfaction with the detailed design and is looking forward to integrating the panel into their existing engine installation.
